Beverly Hills, notoriously the home of the rich and famous, is not just a district in Los Angeles but an actual independent town with over 30000 inhabitants and its own police force. Beverly hill, situated on the hills between Santa Monica and Hollywood, has a flat area stretching from Santa Monica to Sunset Boulevard with clean palm tree lined roads where the first Hollywood stars once lived. The actual hills start on the other side of Sunset Boulevard, a true refuge for the Hollywood stars who live there. Famous residents are Michael Douglas, Jack Nicholson, Phil Collins, Eddie Murphy and Harrison Ford. The area is a big tourist attraction, there are even maps available for the homes of the movie stars and proper organized tours. Naturally all is there to see are the gates and the drives, most movie stars are very well hidden from the curious visitors. When visiting Beverly Hills make sure you walk down Rodeo Drive, the world’s most luxurious road lined with stylish designer shops, take a pick at The Regent, the hotel where Pretty Woman was filmed and if you really are interested take one of the many movie stars’ home tours on offer.
