When visiting Los Angeles take time to visit Chinatown between Hill Street and Broadway; a colourful area with plenty of traditional shops and wishing wells.
The market at Ocean Front in Venice is an outstanding place and walking down Ocean Front is like taking part to a live show with street artists of every kind from acrobats and jugglers to fortune tellers and preachers. Still in Venice, the few canals left deserve a visit as well as the famous murals covering the outside walls of many buildings. In Santa Monica, the closest beach to Downtown, take a look at the Pier, which together with Third Street Promenade is the focus point of entertainment, fun and social gatherings. Don’t forget to visit the Getty Center set on a hill west of L.A., this museum represents one of the world’s most important cultural centers.
For those who want to enjoy the famous Californian beaches, as well as Venice Beach and Malibu Lagoon we suggest Topanga State Beach and Zuma, which is one of the locals’ favourite spots.
Griffith Park is the world’s largest municipal park featuring hills, canyons, woods and foot trails ideal for cycling, jogging or relaxed walks. Not far from Hollywood, the park is home to the L.A. Zoo and to some interesting museums.
Everyone visiting L.A. must take time to visit Hollywood and in particular the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the Walk of Fame in front of it and the Film Studios.
Universal Studios Hollywood is actually a theme park built next to the real studios that can be visited briefly during the Studio Tour on board of an electric train. The visit normally would take all day includes three parts: Lower Lot, Back Lot and Upper Lot. Lower Lot is the most fun on board of a raft within Jurassic Park and Backdraft, a spectacular fire simulation.
Warner Brothers Studios offer a two-hour guided tour every half hour. Unlike Universal Studios, this is a visit of the actual studios with background information on techniques, special effect and tour of famous television sets.
Have a look around Beverly Hills and go shopping on Rodeo Drive.
Finally spend a day in Disneyland, one of the world’s most famous adventure parks
