Sacramento events

The list below is only a selection of some of the many events taking place in Sacramento every year.

April-May
Festival de la Familia
The event is a colourful family festival showcasing Latino culture with live music, arts and food taking place at the end of April. The grounds are filled with music, dance and excitement.

Jazz Jubilee (end of May)
The world’s largest festival of traditional jazz with over 100000 people attending features concerts at over 40 venues from large hotels and convention theatres to cozy and intimate clubs. Mini festivals run alongside on the streets with live blues, zydeco or swing.

June-July
Meadowview Jazz & Cultural Festival
This annual festival taking place at the end of June features national and regional artists, food, cultural exhibitions and a firework display which ends the event.

Music Circus
This event takes is staged in a circus tent at the end of July and features popular Broadway shows.

August-September
California State Fair
This event taking place in August and early September is a mixture of fairground fun, homemade jam contests and artistic and cultural exhibitions.

Gold Rush Days
The event is the celebration of the Gold Rush era in Old Sacramento at the beginning of September.
