San Jose Events

The list below is only a selection of some of the many events taking place in San Jose’ every year.

February-March
Cinequest San Jose’ Film Festival
It takes place in late February to early March and includes a variety of screenings, guest lecturers and workshops.

May
Downtown Farmers Market
It takes place on every Friday from May trough December on San Pedro Square and offers fruits, vegetables, flowers and California certified produce. Tasting and music are intensified around the festivities.

Metro Fountain Blues Festival
The festival, held at the San Jose’ State University, featuring a wide range of important names in the Blues scene is one of the best events in the area.

July
Gilroy Garlic Festival
It is always held on the last weekend of July and features food, wine, arts and crafts, music and family entertainment.

August
San Jose’ Jazz Festival
The San Jose’ Jazz Festival, a series of free concerts held Downtown, is the largest free jazz concert in the world that usually attracts over 100000 people.

September
Desert Dance Festival
Music and dance from around the globe mixed with lessons from Egyptian, Gypsy and American belly dance teachers.

October
Silicon Valley Marathon
It starts in Downtown San Jose’. Post race celebrations are held in Discovery Meadows close to the start line.
